PROSTATE CANCER

Prostate cancer is one of the most common male cancers (approximately 2,700 cases are diagnosed annually in New Zealand).  It is estimated that the lifetime risk of clinical cancer is approximately 8% to 10% of men.
Prostate cancer is extremely rare under the age of 45 (<1% of cases), however, its incidence increases with increasing age.
